Since Thanksgiving is in a couple of days I thought I would share my wit and wisdom on having a green Thanksgiving. Then I realized I didn't have any wisdom to share and went online looking for some. Wisdom that is. I found lots of great advice (search for green thanksgiving) but it didn't really apply to me because I will be traveling to my in-laws. My mother-in-law is preparing the Thanksgiving feast because that is what she likes to do and don't even try to take that away from her.
Since I will be at my in-laws I was thinking about our past Thanksgivings.
- We always use her good plates because she loves how they look on the table.
- We use good flatware and stemware for the same reason.
- She saves just about everything from the turkey so that she can use it for a soup base.
- All the leftovers go into glass containers and whatever she sends home with other people are on glass plates.
The cool thing is she isn't trying to be green. This is how she is. She likes to entertain and was brought up to not be wasteful.
