New Terra Cycle Brigades
TerraCycle one of my favorite companies! I think that it is ingenious how they keep millions of non-recyclable items out of landfills by turning them into usable items; from cookie wrapper to shower curtain, from drink pouch to backpack, from breakfast bar wrapper to bag.
A while back I became part of TerraCycle ’s Energy Bar Brigade and I just recently sent off my first shipment of 200+ non-recyclable Cliff/Luna bar wrappers to TerraCycle!
The whole process was so easy. I just collected the wrappers, placed them in the UPS pouch that Terracycle sent me, placed the pre paid label on the pouch, dropped the pouch off at my local UPS store.
Easy Peasy.
This process has been made a little easier (and a little greener) with Terracycle's new web site which allows you to print your own labels.
While I was looking around the new web-site I discovered that TerraCycle has a few new brigades:
Scotch Tape Dispensers
Corks
Aveno Tube
Toasted chips
Candy bar wrappers
In addition to the very popular: Drink Pouches, Cookie Wrappers, Chip Bags, & Yogurt Containers.
If you have a moment hop over to Terracycle’s recently re-launched website and take a look/listen to the very informative introduction by Tom (i.e. TerraCycle’s CEO).
Upcycling really is a novel concept that is quickly catching on.
And while your there, don't forget to sign up for a brigade or two ;-)
